OKN Neighbourhoods

As Halton’s population evolves, so do its communities — and OKN continues to refine neighbourhood boundaries to reflect this change. After community consultations and careful data analysis, OKN updated the neighbourhood boundaries in 2023, expanding from 27 to 30 neighbourhoods.

The 2023 update resulted from a collaborative review process involving OKN protocol partners, public health experts, and community feedback. Growing neighbourhoods like River Oaks, South Central Milton, and Escarpment were divided to better represent local population shifts, while rural areas were evaluated for future potential adjustments. This update ensures that OKN’s Data Portal users can access the most accurate, community-relevant information for each neighbourhood, with updated postal code conversion files and historical data still accessible. By continuously adapting to Halton’s changing landscape, OKN empowers organizations and community leaders with the insights they need to foster thriving, connected communities.
