Mary Tabak, Child & Youth Development Consultant
Mary Tabak is a registered nurse, child and youth development consultant and parenting coach. She engages professionals and parents to reflect on best practices when working with children. She focuses on identifying, building, and sustaining strengths in schools, communities, and families so that children and youth reach their full potential. Her use of heartfelt stories and concrete examples that resonate with audiences, makes her presentations and workshops especially meaningful.
Having worked in Halton Region for over 30 years, Mary is known for her extensive knowledge of positive child and youth development. She began her work in Developmental Assets® as a public health nurse with the Halton Region Health Department. In her subsequent role as Our Kids Network (OKN) Developmental Assets Manager, and in collaboration with other professionals, she cultivated an “Asset-Building” framework that encompasses Developmental Assets, Family Assets and Developmental Relationships.
Mary’s core belief is that strong relationships are essential for successful communities, programs, teams and families.
