Join us for the 2027 OKN Knowledge Exchange Conference, an opportunity for professionals and organizations serving children, youth, and families in Halton to come together around emerging research, promising practices, and community-based strategies.
The 2027 conference will explore the theme Beyond Screen Time: Building a Community Approach to Children’s Digital Well-Being. Together, we will consider how screen time, digital technology, child and youth mental health, parenting, active play, sleep, healthy development, and community supports intersect.
This year’s conference will also mark OKN’s 30th anniversary, offering an opportunity to celebrate three decades of collaboration, knowledge exchange, and collective impact in support of children and families.
Participants can expect opportunities to:
- Learn about current evidence and emerging best practices related to children’s digital well-being
- Explore practical strategies that move beyond concern and toward realistic, evidence-informed support for families
- Hear examples from local organizations and initiatives in Halton
- Connect with professionals across sectors, including early years, schools, public health, children’s mental health, recreation, libraries, settlement services, and community organizations
- Reflect on shared messaging, referral pathways, parent support, and coordinated community responses
