All kinds of people are asset-builders: parents, neighbours, teachers, youth workers, bus drivers, child care professionals, police officers. We all have opportunities to be asset-builders when we have children or youth in our lives. More
Our asset-building movement in Halton is a huge success due to the passionate and committed professionals who lead the way. These people have attended Our Kids Network trainings, and they intentionally integrate Developmental Assets, Family Assets and/or Developmental Relationships in their work with children and youth.
Why the Developmental Assets Framework?
Here are some ways that asset-builders connect with and support children and youth every day:
Search Institute has identified the building blocks of healthy development that help young people grow up healthy, caring, and responsible.
Building blocks of healthy development that help children ages 3-5 grow up healthy, caring and responsible.
Building blocks of healthy development that help children ages 5-9 (Kindergarten through grade 3).
Building blocks of healthy development that help children throughout the middle ages 8-12.
Building blocks of healthy development that help adolescents.
In the following videos, five of our Halton asset-builders talk about what building assets means to them and how they rely on Developmental Assets, Family Assets and Developmental Relationships in their work with children, youth and families.
