All Children Thrive
Collective Action for Children, Youth and Families
Governance committees provide backbone support to ensure that the collective efforts of the OKN committees and Halton community are supported. All other OKN committees and the Halton community: work towards the common vision of All Children Thrive and the Halton 7 population results.
Halton 7
The seven evidence-based conditions of well-being needed for children, youth and families to thrive. The entire community, including government and business, shares responsibility for working towards the conditions of well-being for children, youth and families.
Governance
Senior Executive Group
Senior executive group (SEG): overall strategic direction and leadership to move towards a common vision that “All Children Thrive” in Halton. SEG supports the intentional collective impact of Our Kids Network. Comprised of eight regionally-mandated protocol partner members.
Secretariat: Halton Children's Aid Society
Secretariat: Employs OKN director and staff. Provides financial oversight and in-kind support.
Collective Impact Planning Committee
Collective Impact Planning Committee (CIPC); manages the implementation of the Our Kids Network Strategic Plan and oversees the provision of backbone support to the Network and community stakeholders. Comprised of Protocol Partners’ senior staff and members from Planning and Backbone Support Committees.
Backbone Support
Communications Advisory
Communications Advisory Committee: consultation and resources to inform and support communications planning and activities. Provides recommendations from the partner/agency/audience perspective.
Knowledge Mobilization
Knowledge Mobilization Committee: facilitates dissemination and utilisation of research knowledge and information for the purpose of improving practice and supporting collective impact.
Research & Evaluation
Research & Evaluation Committee: research, evaluation and knowledge transfer. Members are research-focused individuals from Protocol Partners and participating agencies.
Planning Committees
Halton Prevention and Intervention Committee
Halton Prevention and Intervention Committee: planning and advocacy on children’s and youth mental health, developmental services and addiction based on community needs and priorities. Helps coordinate an integrated system of prevention and intervention services for children, youth and families.
Partners for Children with Differing Abilities
Community Partners for Children with Differing Abilities: planning for services for children with differing abilities from birth to 6 years.
Early Years
Our Kids - Early Years Committee: strategic direction and planning to support positive child development for children prenatal to 6 years.
School Years
Our Kids - School Years Committee strategic direction and planning to support positive child development for children 6 to 18 years-old.
Hubs
OKN Community Hubs (Acton, Milton, Aldershot) bring people and organizations together. Located in schools, managed by a coordinator, three Hubs make services more accessible to neighbourhoods. Hubs work with local groups on programming that responds to community needs.

4 Seasons of Reconciliation Course
Our Kids Network offering free, online course to enrich Canadians’ understanding and knowledge of Truth and Reconciliation
As part of its Indigenous Truth and Reconciliation initiatives, Our Kids Network (OKN) is offering the “4 Seasons of Reconciliation” course to anyone who would like to register.
The course is free, self-paced, and offered online. Most people spend two to three hours completing the 10 modules. It’s multi-media and includes 4K videos, readings, quizzes, and a certificate of completion. Well known Canadian Indigenous issues experts and champions contribute to the content, sharing compelling perspectives and stories.

Halton Youth Impact Survey Results
Latest bulletin highlights young people’s experiences of discrimination, homelessness, and food insecurity
The latest bulletin from Our Kids Network (OKN) indicates that 37% of young people participating in the Halton Youth Impact Survey had experienced discrimination or unfair treatment. Survey findings also show that 16% percent of children and youth had experienced some form of homelessness at some point in their lives, and 28% were facing some degree of food insecurity.
